Leading Craquelada, Laia Duran Vila holds an art restoration major and a degree in Art History from the Universitat de Valencia and the Universitat de Barcelona.
Throughout her working experience over the last 10 years, she has collaborated with museums such as MuVIM and MACBA, institutions like CRBMC as well as being part of other restoration projects that you will be able to take a look here.
Over the course of her career, she has acquired the necessary skills to carry out an examination prior to commencement of any work to determine the causes of deterioration and to develop conservation proposals addressed to preserving cultural heritage. She is in continuous training to look for efficient results and collaborating with other professionals in projects to stay up to date.
In all her conservation-restoration treatments, she has tried to respect the aesthetics and historic properties of the art-works by documenting all the procedures. Such procedures, easily or completely reversible, are based on minimal intervention (only when it is necessary) and using materials that are compatible with the original ones.
